- Join us for a live informational webinar session this coming Tuesday, July 17th, at 12pm ET where you can learn more about the course format, mentorship, hear directly from our course creator, and ask questions in a live Q&A.
What Apple Revealed at WWDC 2025
- At WWDC 2025—Apple’s annual event for unveiling new software—the company introduced a comprehensive redesign across its platforms, featuring the new 'Liquid Glass' design concept with translucent, glass-like interfaces that adapt dynamically to content.
- Many designers feel that while the glass-like aesthetics are visually attractive, they could present issues for readability, particularly for those with vision impairment, or be potentially distracting for users.
- "From a technical perspective, it's a very impressive effect. I applaud the time and effort it must have taken to mimic refraction and dispersion of light to such a high degree. But, sadly I haven't seen a single example of where it's pulled off in a way that's complementary to the broader context it's presented in."
- UX Design specialist Sara Paul investigates strategies for remaining indispensable in UX, arguing that success in design stems not from rigid expertise but from a flexible approach that integrates design thinking, research, and strategic insight.
- Rather than mastering a single tool or methodology, designers need to cultivate a UX practice that includes curiosity, empathy, and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse teams.
- “The core principles of UX and product design remain unchanged, and AI amplifies their importance in many ways. To stay indispensable, designers must evolve: adapt to new workflows, deepen their judgment, and double down on the uniquely human skills that AI can’t replace.”
💜 PORTFOLIO INSPIRATION
Briana Pickens, a graduate of UX Academy, brings a strong creative sensibility to her work evident in her design for Boring Drinks, an app tailored for users seeking unique, non-alcoholic beverages. The playful UI, marked by bright colors and inviting layouts, reflects the app’s fun concept. Briana also leads a thoughtful redesign for the social justice collective Dustsceawing, significantly enhancing usability to support greater accessibility and impact.
