Advanced Figma will take you there. In this four-week online training, you'll gain a deep understanding of Figma's nuances and learn how to take advantage of its advanced features. Each week you'll complete a combination of self-paced lessons and hands-on projects before coming together in weekly scheduled peer group sessions – each led by one of our expert mentors.

Figma is the industry-standard tool for digital product design. Whether you have two or twenty years of experience in the field, if you want to bring your Figma skills to the next level and have your colleagues asking, "How'd you do that?" then this course is for you.
That said, this is not a beginner course. Students will be expected to have a solid understanding of UI/UX principles as well as baseline proficiency with Figma.

Each week students meet in scheduled peer group sessions, led by one of our experienced design mentors. You'll discuss the week's lessons, review project work, and ask any questions. These sessions are also a great opportunity to meet peers across a range of industries.

Constructing Flexible Layouts
Use auto layout to set up and manage flow direction, alignment, and padding. Make layouts that adapt to their contents and containers by using intrinsic widths and heights.
Fundamentals of Reusable Components
Establish icon systems for better integration across your component library. Build robust components for UI elements like buttons and tags with straightforward properties for easy reuse.
Building Complex and Versatile Components
Continue to build on your knowledge of components and expand your library into a more comprehensive and robust system. Explore the pros and cons of various approaches to building components like tables and data grids.
Creating Design Tokens with Variables
Build color palettes that differentiate between base color values, semantic colors, and component-specific colors. Establish flexible and expressive systems for typographic styles to use throughout your designs, across platforms and channels.
Showcase Your Work
Earn a certificate of completion when you complete Advanced Figma with Designlab, and display it proudly on LinkedIn.

Frequently Asked Questions
This course is for UI/UX professionals who are familiar with the basics of Figma and its fundamental features, but are looking to use the tool more efficiently. Before taking this course, you should be familiar with simple layout design, basic component usage, and the Figma interface.
This course may also be a good fit if you’ve been using Adobe XD or Sketch for years and are transitioning to Figma.
If you’re just starting out in UX/UI design, we suggest taking UX Academy Foundations, a 4-8 week course that teaches the fundamentals to visual and user interface design.
Before taking the Advanced Figma course, you should have a basic understanding of the Figma interface and how to use it. That said, experienced designers transitioning to Figma will benefit from this course by learning how to use the program more efficiently.
You’re able to use your own Figma account in the Advanced Figma course. If you don’t already have a Figma account, you’re able to get a free student account when taking the course.
Yes. Students who successfully complete Advanced Figma may request that a Certificate of Completion be sent to them via email.
Unique to the advanced courses Designlab offers, Peer Group Sessions are regularly scheduled meetings facilitated by a professional product designer with expert-level experience in the course topic. In these sessions students come together to discuss the lessons, project work, and any questions.
The Peer Group Sessions in Advanced Figma meet weekly for 60 minutes.
After you enroll in the course, you’ll be emailed a link to confirm the course details and select your peer group time. Typically, peer groups are held several days throughout the week at 12pm ET (9am PT) and 6pm ET (3pm PT).

Students should expect to spend 5-6 hours per week on course work including time for self-paced lessons, practice projects, and peer group sessions. The following milestones will exist each week:
•Sunday: New content is released.
•Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday: Participants will meet with their mentor and peer group.
•48 hours after meeting with your peer group you should submit your project work on the platform.
•48 hours after submitting your project work you’ll receive feedback on your work from your mentor.
You can also unlock the next unit early by completing all lessons and project work ahead of the deadline.
You’ll have some flexibility on when you complete coursework, but you should plan to have a first draft of your project complete before your peer group session each week.
