📰 3 THINGS TO CHECK OUT

🎤 Event: Master the AI Video Revolution: Tools Showdown & Runway Demo 🎤

  • Join us Wednesday, June 18th, at 1pm ET for an interactive session sponsored by 24 Seven and led by AI expert, and creator of our AI for Visual Design course, Sachin Kamath where you’ll dive into the world of AI-video creation.

  • Compare the strengths and limitations of today's most powerful platforms, discover which tools best suit your specific creative needs, and witness Runway's game-changing capabilities through a hands-on live demonstration.

  • This event is open to all experience levels in design and AI—whether you're a curious beginner or a seasoned pro. Register here to attend live or receive a recording.

Physicality: The New Age of UI

  • Designer Sebastiaan de With explores the potential for a major redesign of Apple’s operating systems, tracing iOS through three past design eras and considering what might come next.

  • De With advocates for future UI designs that incorporate tangible elements like depth, motion, and haptic feedback to create a more immersive user experience.

  • “I love products with innovative, novel interfaces — modern iOS isn’t simply a product, but a platform. Its designers bear responsibility to make the system look good even in uncontrolled situations where third party developers like myself come up with new, unforeseen ideas.”

To Grow We Must Forget—But AI Remembers Everything

  • AI researcher Amy Chivavibul explores the risks of persistent memory in AI, warning that while it offers personalization and convenience, it can also trap users in static patterns by reinforcing past behaviors and limiting growth.

  • Drawing on cognitive science, the author calls for intentional design that builds “forgetting” into AI systems, allowing users to evolve and avoid the psychological stagnation of hyper-personalization.

  • “Selective forgetting helps us prioritize the relevant, discard the outdated, and stay flexible in changing environments. It prevents us from becoming trapped by obsolete patterns or overwhelmed by noise.”

💜 PORTFOLIO INSPIRATION

Ryan Emmans, a UX Academy graduate, applies a sharp attention to detail in his work for Residence, an end-to-end app that fosters furniture reuse by connecting buyers and sellers through a dedicated marketplace. His standout UI design combines strong branding with an intuitive, welcoming interface. In his redesign for United Refuge, a global disaster relief organization, Ryan enhances usability by streamlining donation flows, improving volunteer coordination, and CTAs. He further demonstrates his UI expertise by optimizing the design for responsiveness and crafting a more engaging, user-friendly interface.
