ADOBE ABANDONS FIGMA

  • After a challenging 15-month attempted acquisition process, Adobe and Figma have made the decision to part ways, with the merger no longer moving forward.
  • The dissolution of the deal ultimately resulted from continued scrutiny of regulators, who felt that Adobe's purchase of FIgma could hinder future opportunities for product competition and innovation.
  • Adobe stated there were “no competitor or customer complaints about the deal”... but despite having “tried and failed” with their own product, XD, designers have also had concerns about the monopolistic of tools.

WHAT DO USERS REALLY THINK ABOUT AI?

  • Author Ken Olewiler surveys a diverse group of individuals, both AI-savvy and not, asking how they feel about its implementation across various use cases.
  • Responses were largely mixed. Participants felt positively about AI assistance with task efficiency or accessibility, but less sure when it came to questions around privacy, creativity, and ethics.
  • One participant commented “I can use AI to facilitate my life, but not where it begins to interfere with my relationships” a concern that seems quite commonplace in the current conversation.

UNLOCKING CREATIVITY: STRATEGIES TO BREAK THROUGH CREATIVE BLOCK

  • Creative blocks don’t happen because you’re out of ideas; they can be from exhaustion, a lack of inspiration, or stagnancy in your creative routine.
  • Author Avi suggests tactics such as quick ideating, seeking new perspectives, and embracing constraints as ways to unlock creative agility and move past feeling stuck.
  • “Being creative isn’t just about random flashes of brilliance; it’s a skill that can be grown and refined.”
