Meet Our Panel
Moamen Kohail - A digital product designer from Egypt with an unconventional professional background. After receiving a degree in dentistry, he made a career shift into graphic design before ultimately acquiring the skills and knowledge to become a UX designer. With over five years of experience in the field, Moamen has worked on a variety of projects, including Flyy – a social metaverse app based in New York, USA, and a SaaS app for search and recommendations called AddSearch, where he currently works as a Senior UX Designer. He has also led the design of several mobile apps, enterprise software such as ERP systems, game UX, and more, collaborating with teams from Egypt, the USA, Finland, and KSA.
Matthew Johnson - Matthew currently serves as a UX Researcher with Edward Jones, where he helps to facilitate the firm's digital transformation. He's passionate about leveraging technology to achieve greater efficiency and social impact — but even more passionate about mentoring and supporting fellow career-changers. Before pivoting to UX in 2019, he worked as an educator, writer, and nonprofit manager.
Hussain Dewani - Hussain is a product designer at HSBC who started his career in filmmaking and transitioned to design in 2017. You can often find Hussain advocating for community collaborations, designer pay transparency or mentoring students at DesignLab. Hussain currently lives in Hong Kong.
Emilyann Gachko (Moderator) - Emilyann is a Senior Admissions Rep at Designab, as well as our DE&I lead. Her role mostly involves working with students to determine if Designlab is the right choice for them, as well as guiding them through the first part of their learning journey here! She also heads up the Diversify Design scholarship program and enjoys helping engage our student community.
