What You’ll Learn Through UI Design

After 4 weeks you'll improve your visual design skills in areas like color and type, learn how to identify and mimic key design patterns, and finish off the course with a high fidelity prototype to show off all your newfound knowledge.

Start by familiarizing yourself with what UI Design is, where it originates from, and what are some common tools and principles tools that the field relies on.

Interactive Patterns

Learn how to recognize common design patterns and best practices for creating your own UI components within a design system.

Brand and Identity

Learn how a product’s brand impacts the design process and how to form your work according to a strict set of style rules.

Week 2

Visual Hierarchy

Understand how the order of elements on a page impacts how a user views and interacts with it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this course different than Design 101? What should I already know?

Compared to Design 101, this course is more advanced and requires previous experience using a design tool. Students are expected to at least have a basic level of design knowledge before they take this course.

Can I take this to become a UI Designer?

On it’s own this course isn’t enough to guarantee a job in UI design. Combined with prior experience however, an existing designer could use this to establish a UI portfolio or refocus their career.

Does a mentor get assigned to me or can I pick a mentor?

We do our best to match mentors and students based on timezone and availability, but if you have a request we’re happy to try and accommodate it!

How are mentor sessions scheduled?

Mentor sessions are flexible—you schedule them yourself based on your mentor's posted timeslots. You can also reach out to your mentor to figure out the best time that works for both of you!

Do you offer any discounts?

We currently offer discounts for existing students, and veterans. We also offer a 2-month payment plan where the course price is split into two halves. We’ve also had past students’ employers sponsor their course tuition.

What is the course pacing?

Each week students have a set of curriculum & projects that they can work through at their own pace. Expect to spend 10-15 hours a week to complete everything along with your weekly mentor call. Night owls or early birds, it doesn’t matter, just as long as you finish your work on a weekly basis.

What if I can’t start the course on launch day?

Since the course is self paced and flexible in nature—when you decide to start your first week’s curriculum is up to you. As long as you’re able to get your work done by the following week, the rest if up to you.

What if I don’t like the course?

You can drop the course at anytime and we’ll refund you completely! We have a 100% money-back guarantee, no questions asked.

What if I’m a part of a team that wants to take this course?
